As someone who seems to be always chopping something to cook, I was looking around for a way to easily sharpen my favorite knife. The fabulous Food Republic site posted an article using the bottom of a ceramic coffee mug to create a qucickly sharpened knife. Simply turn the mug over onto your kitchen counter. Holding your knife at a 30 degree angle, place the blade against the small ring of bare ceramic and pull your knife down running the edge against the ring. Do this a few times on each side. I tried it! Low and behold- it works wonders! Happy Chopping!
